Board of Directors Knowledge, integrity, respect and compassion....

Knowledge of the community, integrity, respected business acumen, a deep concern for the quality of life of our region and compassion for others are desirable traits of the Board of Directors.  While this is a tall order, the responsibility to manage and oversee the community's charitable assets is a big task.  From reviewing investment performance, to providing grant oversight, to sharing knowledge about the needs and condition of the community, our Board of Directors is an invaluable resource.

One of the Board's largest responsibilities lies in the future.  The North Georgia Community Foundation is identified as the beneficiary of over $75 million in bequests from wills of local citizens who want to leave something to better their community or to support their favored charity.  The Board will be responsible for seeing that the long term intent of these donors is fulfilled.  This goes to the very core of why the first community foundation was established in 1914, to serve as the permanent custodian of  the community's charitable resources and to carry out the intent of its donors year after year.  The Community Foundation slogan, "For Good, For Ever," is seen in the duty and responsibility of its Board of Directors.

BOARD MEMBERS
The NGCF Board of Directors has 25 members from the North Georgia region. The Board is diverse and provides a wide variety of interests from throughout the region.  Board Members may serve two, three year terms.  The officers of the Foundation are elected every June and serve for one year. The full Board meets at noon on the fourth Wednesday of each month except for July.
