The Mar-Jac Poultry Scholarship was established in 2004 to identify and recognize graduating public high school seniors who demonstrate need and who exhibit excellence in all phases of school life, in community activities and in the home.
Applicants must meet all the following criteria:
* demonstrate need
* have a weighted, cumulative Grade Point Average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in all courses
* have assumed an active role in extracurricular activities sponsored by the school and community
* be registered to vote if he or she is eighteen and must be a citizen of the United States
In 2010, one $1,000 non-renewable award is available to graduating seniors in each of the following high schools who meet the above criteria:
Banks County; Chestatee; Commerce; Dawson County; East Hall; East Jackson County Comprehensive; Elbert County; Flowery Branch; Franklin County; Gainesville; Habersham County; Hart County; Jackson County Comprehensive; Jefferson; Johnson; Lumpkin County; Madison County; North Forsyth; North Hall; Oglethorpe County; Stephens County; West Hall; and White County.
