Nonprofit Engagement

The Community Foundation values supporting nonprofit capacity building efforts and believes it is an important investment in our community.  Partnering with nonprofits on capacity building and technical assistance helps to strengthen local nonprofits so they can better achieve their missions and ultimately improve the quality of life in our region.

Non-Profit Lunch & Learn and Non-Profit Networking Sessions

All sessions will be at the North Georgia Community Foundation from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.  Registration for the Lunch & Learns is $20 and includes lunch and drinks. Registration for the Networking Sessions is $10 and includes lunch and drink.

By popular request - class is being offered as a follow-up to the February fundraising lunch and learn. We will be diving deeper into developing and creating a fundraising plan that an organization can implement. Even if you did not attend the first session, you are welcome to come to this one!

This program will provide tips and strategies to ensure you are maximizing your marketing potential and incorporating the most effective tactics for your organization. Plus you will walk away with tools and resources to help you with your digital approach.

June 22 | Gambling for Nonprofits in Georgia - Ensure your fundraising events are legal!

Nonprofits often host fundraisers in which activities like raffles and auctions are used to raise funds. You need to be aware of the federal and state regulations governing these activities. This class will teach you the do's and don't's of hosting these events.

Please come prepared to share and learn in an open discussion format about both success & disappointment stories; with tidbits on what has worked and what has not.

August 24 | Planned Giving for Non-Profits

For nonprofit organizations, planned giving plays an important role in your overall fundraising plan. If you are looking to learn more about incorporating planned giving into your fundraising strategies, this Lunch & Learn program is for you.

Do you feel like you are pulling a million directions? Do you overbook your calendar or sometimes not even us it at all...? Are deadlines sneaking up on you? This session will be an open forum discussion to share best practices and ideas for better time management.

FRIDAY - October 20 | How to Provide Self-Care for You and Your Team.
Are you and your co-workers taking care of yourself? You can only give your best when you are your best. Join us for a workshop on tools and tidbits of how to make sure you are taking care of yourself.

Presented by Anjana Freeman. Anjana provides Community and Professional Education on topics including Trauma Informed Services, the Psychology and Physiology of Trauma, Secondary Trauma and Self-Care.

Nonprofit Office Space

The Foundation provides affordable office space to nonprofit organizations.  Rent includes use of common meeting rooms, internet service, discounted telephone service, utilities, maintenance and repair.

Office space is leased at a low cost per square foot. We are currently fully rented. To be added to our waiting list please call Margaux Dolenc at (770) 535-7880 or email for more information on leasing space.

Meeting Space

Located in downtown Gainesville, the Foundation office has meeting space that is available to nonprofit organizations and will accommodate up to 25 people. Spaces are available between 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, free of charge.
