North Georgia Community Foundation Grants Over $485,000 to North Georgia Nonprofits
Grants are supplemented by gifts from advised charitable funds

GAINESVILLE, Ga. – The North Georgia Community Foundation (NGCF) has awarded a total of $485,773 in grants to 39 local nonprofit organizations through its Community Grant Cycle for 2021. The grants support nonprofits, programs and initiatives working to improve the quality of life in communities across north Georgia.

This year’s cycle marks the largest total dollar amount NGCF has awarded from a community grant cycle throughout its 36-year history. “The growth of our NGCF Community Fund has allowed us to provide more support to organizations and make a larger difference in the lives of people in need,” said NGCF President & CEO Michelle Prater. “NGCF fundholders joined alongside us to provide $57,500 in additional grants which helped to amplify the impact of this year’s cycle.”

The NGCF Community Fund is a permanent resource of funds held at NGCF. This year the total dollar amount awarded in Community Grants included grants from the W. Frank and Lillie Mae Green Fund at NGCF, as well as other generous fundholders who chose to allocate dollars from their personal charitable funds to support these grant initiatives.
