The Boys & Girls of Lanier has provided a safe and nurturing environment in Hall and Forsyth Counties, which led Habersham County representatives to approach the nonprofit organization about expanding its after-school and summer programs into their community.

“We have seen what a vital role Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier plays in the lives of the children and families in our community. We are thrilled to provide the seed money for the expansion into eight Habersham County schools,” said NGCF President and CEO Michelle Prater. “Our Opportunity Grants program is designed to help nonprofits and organizations create or expand impactful programming. This is a great example of a nonprofit doing just that.”

This programming in Habersham County previously did not exist. With the addition of the Habersham County Club sites, Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier currently operates 25 clubs that provide a fun, safe and positive environment for youth when school is out.

“We are honored to receive this Opportunity Grant from NGCF that allows us to expand our programming.” said Boys & Girls Club of Lanier CEO Steve Mickens. “The Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier in Habersham will help even more children on their path to success.”
