North Georgia Community Foundation Awards $429,922 to Nonprofits

46 nonprofits received a grant for programs and services

The North Georgia Community Foundation (NGCF) is proud to announce its 2023 Community Grant Cycle has awarded a sum of $429,922 in grant funding to 46 deserving nonprofits across the region. This annual, application-based grant cycle highlights the commitment of NGCF to support the essential programs and services that enrich the lives of North Georgia residents.

This year’s grant awards, which ranged from $500 to $25,000, will bolster organizations focused on a wide array of needs, from health and human services to education and community improvement.

Reflecting on the program’s growth, “We [NGCF] have been running this program for 24 years. The first year, we awarded $10,000; so, to see where we are now is incredible,” said Margaux, a Senior Director at the Foundation. “These Community Grants, along with this year’s Opportunity Grants of $107,000, total an impressive $537,000 that has been awarded through these NGCF Grant Programs this year.”

The funding for NGCF Grant Programs is sourced from the NGCF Community Fund and the generous contributions of NGCF fundholders. The exponential increase in grant funding over the years has enabled the NGCF Grant Programs to build stronger communities and create lasting change. Anyone can support the Programs by donating to NGCF Community Fund, an endowed Fund that will provide nonprofit funding in perpetuity.

A celebration of this year’s Community Grant recipients took place last week, where each nonprofit was represented and recognized in front of an audience of their peers, community leaders and NGCF board members. To view all the recipients, visit: www.ngcf.org/ngcf-grant-programs.
